Abstract
Celebrating the fifth centenary pf the death of Francisco Javier, patron saint of missions and the IEME, the author proposes that we reflect on Francisco Javier’s experience. Firstly, we have to as ourselves what actions and attitudes we should show towards pastoral, missionary activity. Secondly, the ecclesiastical mission raises some direct questions; to what extent is our pastoral function that of a missionary one? Are we really filfilled with what we do? If Jesuschrist and his message is my life, how enthusiastically am I trying to communicate the principles of the Gospel to all the people around me?
