Soteriology of Beauty in Alexander of Hales
Main Article Content
Abstract
It is evident that in front of beautiful man experiences a very particular pleasure born of contemplation. However, is it possible to affirm that such contemplation of beauty has in itself the capacity to fulfill man, to make him himself? The present work takes this question as an axis to answer it from the perspective proposed by the Summa Halensis and other works of the Franciscan master Alexander of Hales. To do this, we study the nature of the beautiful, its perception from man, the problems that such perception encounters in fallen man, and then relieve the cure proposed by the Irrefragabilis to such evils.
