Ethical Structure of Thomas Aquinas

Abstract
In this article, we want to show the link between metaphysics and ethics in Thomas Aquinas. This link is based on the notion of actualisation. Aquinas has a metaphysical and ethical conception of man. The central assertion of Aquinas's metaphysics is that esse is an act. The doctrine of the actualisation of being finds its concrete application in the ethical conception of Thomas Aquinas. Just as the actus essendi actualises the essentia to form a singular ens, the intelligence and the will actualise freedom for an ethics of excellence/happiness.
