Abstract
Este trabajo analiza una parcela de la lengua de los espirituales y místicos españoles durante los siglos XVI y XVII (San Juan de la Cruz, Santa Teresa de Jesús, Fray Jerónimo Gracián, Fray Francisco de Osuna, Fray Luis de León, Malón de Chaide, Fray Luis de Alarcón, Fray Luis de Granada, San Juan de Ávila, San Francisco de Borja, Padre Luis de la Puente o Luisa de Carvajal) para describir las experiencias místicas. Para ello recurren al mar y a una serie de constelaciones metafóricas como mar = Dios, Jesucristo; la navegación como mar = vida humana, mundo, cuerpo o nave = alma.
This paper analyzes a parcel of the language of the spiritual and mystical Spaniards during centuries XVI and XVII (San Juan de la Cruz, Santa Teresa de Jesus, Hieronymite Fray Gracián, Fray Francisco de Osuna, Fray Luis of Leon, Malón de Chaide, Fray Luis de Alarcón, Fray Luis of Granada, San Juan de Ávila, San Francisco de Borja, Father Luis of Puente or Luisa de Carvajal) in order to describe the mystical experiences. For it they resort to the sea and to a series of metaphore constellations like sea = God, Jesus Christ; navigation like sea = human life, world, body or ship = soul.
