Abstract
In this paper we suggest the analysis of the sonnets of Toledo, Na Corte da Saudade (1922), Chuva da Tarde: love sonnets (1923) and of Era uma vez um menino… (1926), a set of elegies, by António Sardinha as exemples of a sentimental and intimate poetry inspired by António Nobre, Bernardim Ribeiro, Francisco Sá de Miranda, Camilo Castelo Branco, João de Deus and Luís de Camões. These three works reveal the commitment to increase the cult of tradition, the emergence and exaltation of an indigenous carácter which, in the poet’s point of view, has a special form of creativity.
