Higher Education Relations between China and Spanish Catholic Universities: Educational, Commercial and Spiritual Opportunity
Main Article Content
Abstract
It explores the growing educational collaboration between China and Spanish Catholic universities, highlighting opportunities in three main areas: educational, commercial, and spiritual. In the educational field, the article emphasizes how globalization and internationalization have facilitated collaboration in academic programs, student exchanges, and the creation of academic synergies between the two countries. Spanish Catholic universities have capitalized on the growing demand for quality education in China by attracting students through double degree programs and promoting student mobility. Commercially, the expanding Chinese educational market presents a significant opportunity for Spanish universities, which can leverage China's rising middle class willing to invest in international education. Spiritually, the article highlights the role of Spanish Catholic universities in fostering interreligious dialogue and promoting Christian values in a predominantly secular Chinese context, providing a path for mutual understanding and cultural and religious exchange.
