The Pauline Katechon (2 Thessalonians 2:6-7). A Canonical Approach

Abstract
The exegesis of the so-called katechon of 2 Thess 2:6-7 has long since transcended the boundaries of biblical studies and theology, moving into the realm of political philosophy. Its current interpretation ultimately inherits the positions of the Church Fathers. The purpose of this study is to revisit them and offer a proposed canonical reading, the one commonly adopted by those early commentators. Ultimately, it seeks to understand how a provident God acts in human history, marked by the actions of the Evil One through seduction and lies.
