Abstract

Population is a matter of utmost importance today. Its imbalances in the West are evident in our societies. These imbalances result in multiple unknows to be resolved at all levels. The personal, familial, and social dimensions of human acts should be ur- gently reconsidered. How have we come to this point? A causal insight can be gained from contemporary historical analysis on this subject. This is the main aim of this article, which introduces us to the origins of neo-Malthusianism in the Western context, particularly in the Anglo-American context. Neo-Malthusianism represents the historical manifestation of the contraceptive mentality in the West.
