Abstract

The monograph ‘Understanding Youth: Pedagogical and Psychosocial Keys’ addresses the complexity of youth as a defining stage in human development, characterised by physical, emotional and social transformations. Using an interdisciplinary perspective that combines pedagogical and psychosocial approaches, the articles presented explore fundamental issues for a better understanding of youth in contemporary society.

The main topics covered include time management and its impact on youth well-being, participation in structured leisure activities, and the role of social support networks. Self-regulation in time management is highlighted as an essential factor for mental and physical health, especially in contexts of vulnerability. Leisure activities, such as theatre, music or sport, are described as spaces that contribute to both personal well-being and youth self-fulfilment.

Likewise, social support, provided by family and community networks, emerges as a crucial component in fostering young people's resilience, autonomy and well-being. The monograph emphasises the need for socio-educational interventions that promote self-regulation and well-being, involving diverse institutions to maximise support for youth.
